_The Evening Post_, 1 September 1924:
DEATH AT SEA
When the R.M.S. #Ionic, which arrived this morning from South[a]mpton, was sixteen days out from Panama, a third-class passenger, Mrs. Ann Macintosh #Urquhart, gave birth to a still-born child, and, in spite of expert medical attention, died the following day of collapse and #eclampsia. Both were buried at sea in the evening, the ship being hove-to for the purpose. The Rev. C. Hepworth, who is travelling on to Australia as a representative of the S.P.C.K., conducted the funeral service, and all activities on the vessel ceased while the ceremony took place.
