@waarismijnhoofd @anubiarts I mean, I can't speak to everyone's experience, but I imagine a lot of twitter users in countries where English isn't a main language simply don't know how bad it is.
For folks who interact with English media and the English side of twitter, it's kind of hard to imagine with how ubiquitous it is, but it's really easy to miss the scale and severity of twitter's decline if you don't actively look for it
(In Japan, for example, which has (or at least had) the largest percentage of twitter users outside of the English language, I know several people personally who were surprised to hear about it, long after the takeover)
Most folks don't read policy + terms of service updates
I think it's also safe to assume most folks don't read news articles about corporate takeovers
This is not to excuse folks who know and stay anyway, but it's definitely easier than one might think to be simply unaware of the whole ordeal
