2/2

1980s #Airplane! I mean, come on, if you want base humour this movie and #TheNakedGun are a great way to fritter away an evening. Certainly not politically correct, in a number of ways, but I liked it. Edit: I didn't like that it was not PC but that overall l liked it πŸ˜‰

Lastly I watched 1986s #TheThreeAmigos Silly and predictable but like Airplane!, not a bad way to spend an evening. If I had to choose, #MartinShort as Ned Nederlander was my fave amigo.

Not part of the challenge but I am cinema bound tonight to see #WidowClicquot and again tomorrow for a 4K restoration of #TheGodfather. Woo hoo

@KDramaQn I love Airplane! And rewatch it periodically. If you ever have the chance, watch Zero Hour, which is a movie that Airplane! was based on. It works well on its own terms as an airborne thriller, but also works well when you recognize various scenes in it that were reworked in Airplane! And yeah, Three Amigos is great goofball fun πŸ˜€

Another crusty faced old coot who goes unrecognized is #RobertRyan. It wasn't on my list and westerns aren't generally my thing but I did see #TheWildBunch recently. Not too shabby πŸ˜‰

@KDramaQn Oooh yes! Wild Bunch is another awesome one πŸ˜€

You’re making your way through some wonderful movies πŸ˜€

@uxmark

Slowly but surely. I find that KANOPY, the big library site, has a number of great older films and classics. I look there when I have exhausted all avenues for forgotten favourites. I have just put #BlackOrpheus on my watchlist there and also Fritz Lang's M with #PeterLorre

@KDramaQn I’ve just accumulated lots of viewings over the years. πŸ˜€

I haven’t yet seen Black Orpheus, but I do love M!

FWIW, Criterion Channel is a great streaming source, though it's not inexpensive.

@uxmark

You and I spoke once before about that and I am still tempted. Just joined a local Criterion Meet Up group for cinema lovers. This month is #JointSecurityArea from #ParkChanWook.

@KDramaQn Ah, thanks for the reminder. The channel is especially big on noir, but far from focused on just that. (I haven’t seen JSA β€” looks very cool.) πŸ˜€

@uxmark

Fingers crossed. I have seen his vengeance trilogy and his most recent 3 so I am really looking forward to it.
