I bought a proper background for portraits and fiddled with the lights some more. I think I need to move the main flash off center a bit to add some dimension
@jerry you may like my version from spencers at the mall a few years ago c1992 #tabs #paces #null pointer exceptions
@jerry The flash straight on like that really makes you look less like a llama than your avatar pic.
@jerry time for some extra cringe sweaters
@jerry
I roomed with professional fashion photographer once, he made his own from a white sheet that he randomly sprayed with varying shades of super diluted blue and purple dyes in water bottles. He was doing a runway style portraits of around 100 wedding guests.
@Okanogen thatโ€™s a good idea. Lots cheaper than these
@jerry
He was a total diy guy from Hamburg. I was amazed how well it worked out.
@jerry I read that as "move the main flesh off center" and was kinda ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
@Sempf well, that might work too. But it sounds painful

@jerry
Such a shyna punim.
[cheek pinch]

I can't help it.
You bring out my inner Jewish mother.

@jerry my background was way more expensive
@jerry I think I'd buy a car from that guy and feel ok about it
@jerry some white and/or black flags can create dimension also.

@jerry Photos with these backgrounds remind me of the ones we, and all our cousins had when we were kids. Am I wrong or was it a seventies thing to have these glossy portraits done? It might be an American thing too.

A head and shoulders shot. Almost like a yearbook shot.

@nf3xn YES! It has a very 1980โ€™s JC Penny photography vibe

@jerry @nf3xn

โ€ขOlan Mills has entered the chatโ€ข

@paninid @nf3xn ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ we couldnโ€™t afford the Olan Mills luxury
@jerry @paninid @nf3xn There's a shopping center about 20 minutes away called Gurnee Mills. I still can't think of the name but have called it Owen Mills at least five or six hundred times.
