The US is unlikely to adopt single payer- why not consider a voucher system to fix healthcare? Everyone receives a voucher large enough to pay for a minimal level of quality healthcare from private insurance. Insurance companies must offer these programs and accept vouchers, but employers may contribute additional funds as a benefit.
