#Palestine / IDF Soldier Suspended After Throwing Stun Grenade at Palestinian Car with Children

An #IDF soldier was suspended from duty after being recorded throwing a stun grenade into a Palestinian vehicle containing two children in Hebron's Old City.

The incident occurred during a night patrol when the soldier approached a Palestinian driver making a U-turn and, for reasons unclear, threw the grenade into the car.

The IDF has ordered an investigation by the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division. While information about the victims' well-being is crucial for a complete understanding of the incident and its consequences, #Ynet, at least, doesn't seem to think their readers might want to know.

Footage shows the Palestinian driver fleeing the scene with smoke coming from the car windows.

This incident comes amid ongoing investigations into other cases of alleged misconduct by Israeli soldiers, including the abuse of a a Palestinian detainee in Sde Teiman, involving five reserve soldiers currently under house arrest. And an indictment against Reserve Sergeant Israel Hagbi for multiple instances of violence against Palestinian detainees during transports between February and June.
