@gfarrell
Do I assume PP also believes the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) is a democracy as the name PROVES.

#HowCanPeopleBeSoStupid

@gfarrell

AND who is running to lead his party in the next election AND become Prime Minister.
We are embarrassed, too.

#NeverVoteConservative

@gfarrell Couldn't imagine being this wrong so publicly.
@gfarrell Even SO, I don't see any discussion about the detriment of being 'Socialist'
@gfarrell
Not only an MP, but the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada who has a frighteningly high chance of winning the federal election next year.
If he wins, it will not be a good time to be anything other than a white, cisgender, heterosexual, Christian business owner.
@gfarrell by that logic, North Korea is democratic
@gfarrell , 100 percent of my patients could be described similarly. 80 percent of my patients have ADHD. I see kids, teens, and young adults. I have gotten in the habit of spotting possible neuro diversity. However, what I saw at the convention was a 17 year old boy following the healthy footsteps of his dad, who outwardly expressing his emotions and empathy.

@gfarrell

Indeed but there is an ironic connection to the right not left:

"... the brothers Otto and Gregor Strasser did much to grow the party by tying Hitler’s racist nationalism to socialist rhetoric that appealed to the suffering lower middle classes."

Very much the new right wing deal...

Were the Nazis Socialists? | Britannica

Were the Nazis socialists? No, not in any meaningful way, and certainly not after 1934.

@gfarrell Always the "Gotcha" moment for the extreme right-wing neanderthal ignoramuses.
@gfarrell By his logic Pierre is a Stone. Even though more likely I'd call him a brick.
But I have to admit that even here in Germany the most stupid of extremists use that "socialist" argument since like forever.
@gfarrell That tweet is like saying that countries that have Democratic in their names are democratic.
@gfarrell Wow, I can't believe that the rather deliberate naming scam (or "marketing trick") from, what, a 100 years ago still is pushed and seems to work.
The "socialist" in the name was a deliberate choice to poach underinformed workers from actual left, socialist, communist parties in Germany especially after WWI, where they were bitterly disappointed by the social democratic party (a tradition they haven't broken with to this day).
Other than that, the Nationalsocialist Workers Party of Germany was about as socialist as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is democratic.

@gfarrell

The thing is, #PierrePoilievre doesn't care.

He doesn't care what #Holocaust #Educators say, or know.

He doesn't care about #historicalaccuracy.

He doesn't even care (much) if he's embarrassed.

All he, and people like him care about, are repeating the same lies over and over, until they drown out the truth.

To #paraphrase (and bastardize) one of their own quotes; The #Right don't care about facts, because facts don't care about their feelings.
