Help Anthony Get Through His Disability Benefits Appeals
This is a continuation of my efforts to raise survival funds to get through my medical and financial dilemma until I can restore my Disability benefits. I am currently unemployed and unable to work due to a chronic medical condition (POTS) that causes dizziness and fainting spells whenever I face physical or emotional stress. Because of this, I had to resign from my former job of 20 years in 2023 after using up all of my sick leave and PTO pay. I did receive Long-Term Disability payments from then on due to my former job's benefit plan, but the insurance company handling that plan determined on their own that I was no longer disabled by their standards, and discontinued the payments in January of this year. My appeal to restore the insurance payments was denied in May; therefore I have been totally dependent on crowdfunding for basic survival funds, while I seek Federal/state disability benefits through SSI/SSDI. That is currently being processed; however, that still leaves me with no income to pay my expenses and bills until my case is resolved. My doctor has repeated stated that I am not in any condition to return to active work due to my medical status, but she has been ignored for whatever reason by authorities. The basic needs and expenses are as follows: $600 for rent (paid biweekly, $300/2 week period) $450/month for cable/Internet/voice/land phone $200 for wireless/mobile phone/text/data $300 for other miscellaneous bills and contingencies for monthly doctor appointments $200 for purchasing food Therefore, the initial goal of $2,000 covers all those needs. I ultimately plan to register for Social Security and Medicare in May of 2026, when I reach the minimum age of eligibility; but until then unless I am approved for SSI/SSDI; I am totally dependent on crowdfunding like this for survival. You all have been so great for me throughout this struggle; hopefully you will continue your generosity. Thank you all for your support.
