Despite its apparent simplicity, #FourAgainstDarkness continues to intrigue me. Now, I'm writing rules I call #FourAgainstTheSandbox which allows for overland #HexMap generation as you explore. I also want to write rules for generating settlements that you can find or build yourself as a management and worker placement minigame. Basically, I want simple rules that allows for the creation of an entire sandbox with landscapes, settlements, and dungeons.

I'm facing an interesting challenge with this project. I want my #FourAgainstDarkness sandbox generator supplement to have something... unique. Something which makes it special. But I'm not yet sure what that would be. I have procedures for generating hexmaps and settlements now. One option could be to also have a subhex map generator for a more zoomed in view, like an outdoor dungeon if you will. We'll see. I'll probably do that, but I feel like I also need something more.

One thing that I've been thinking about including in my #FourAgainstDarkness #SoloRPG supplement is a personality and love/relationships system for PCs and NPCs. A system where, as your PCs interact more and more with NPCs, you get to know their personality. This means that aspects of their personality are randomized at the table as you interact with them, then made permanent. Perhaps they'll end up being compatible with your PCs, or perhaps it wasn't meant to be?
