Trump Warns That if Kamala Harris Wins, ‘Everybody Gets Health Care’

Donald Trump repeatedly lied about single-payer health care — an idea he and Harris both previously supported but no longer do.

@PeachMcD @uspolitics Came here to make sure someone said this. Thank you!!
@uspolitics It's the new TACO TRUCKS AT EVERY CORNER!!
#uspol #woohoo
@uspolitics sigh sadly it's yet another one of his lies
@uspolitics
I'm already going to vote for her, you don't have to keep trying to convince me.
@uspolitics Oh no... not THAT! I dare Kamala Harris to win...I triple dog dare!
@JasonStiff
Hope ppl remember to vote all the way down the ballot as well. hard to get anything done w.o. congress. I'm afraid of what happens if Harris is saddled with an obstructionist congress, the let-down that will come then 🤞
@uspolitics
@hakona @uspolitics Yep absolutely. I'll never forgive McConnell for not allowing Barack Obama's Supreme Court pick to go before the Senate, and that's only one of the countless examples of obstruction that side is guilty of and proud of.
@uspolitics Even Trump is campaigning for Harris now!

@uspolitics

Soon, caravans of healthcare professionals will be providing free health care for everybody. Is that the America we want?

It's fun to watch him dig his own grave.

Universal health care is long overdue but our billionaire donors want to continue their system of exploitation unfettered.

The GOP remains committed to high mortality rates to profit the 1%."

The numbers of lives lost and dollars spent would have been significantly lower if coverage had been extended to everyone, a new study says

@uspolitics It's really weird of him to be endorsing the other candidate like this.
@uspolitics Uh... I'm confused how that could be a bad thing? I'm really trying to play devil's advocate for why people may dislike this, but I don't get it. I guess obese people will get GLP-1 agonists covered so he can't make fun of them anymore? Despite the fact he himself is also obese...

"But but Universal Healthcare is Communism!!!11!1"

There will be some people who are just selfish and don't want to share.

@dee_le_brun mentions why below, but as the article doesn't explain the mechanics I feel I should.

<🟨 rant ⚠️>

Conservatives operate on the concept of “deserving”. Dee Le Brun correctly points out that it's about the in-group “real «americans»”. Yet this is broader. It leads also to the “working hard billionaire” mythos. The billionaire deserves the wealth as he has wealth. How he got the wealth? In that >>>

@uspolitics

\>>> corner the conservative will answer with “hard work”, “getting up at 6”, or shite de la shite, “avocado toast”.

And with that the rollercoaster can continue with imagining people's flaws.
You're homeless? The conservative thinks you deserved it, or because you're an alcoholic/drug addict/lazy, defining you by those terms.
This has an additional “bonus” of dehumanising the people you talk about, pushing them further into the out-group. >>>

@sheiladebonis
>>> There are more examples how the concept of “deserving” goes, at least tangentially.
It can be used as a thought terminating cliché or a stating point of terrible ideas.
Thus this concept, I think, is a part of core of the conservative ideology.
So going forward we should learn to recognise and counter such concepts.

I wish Democrats were even just a tenth of what Republicans say they are.

@jargoggles @uspolitics

Sad that he only speaks lies.

Gods, do I wish he'd leave the country & we all get health care

@uspolitics threatening us with a good time again
@uspolitics oh no! Dont throw me in the briar patch!
@uspolitics WOW! What audacity - everyone getting healthcare!!? 😂
@uspolitics And then what? Life? He‘s such a demented old bastard!
@uspolitics
"with the exception of inhuman"
@uspolitics Don’t threaten us with good times!
@uspolitics Being so bitter that he wouldn’t want another human who is suffering life threatening illness to access healthcare, I can’t imagine why anyone would choose that. This touches a nerve and resonates with me personally….. there are a minority of people like this working in health or charitable health organisations all over the world, it is dismal how they are, no compassion.

@uspolitics It's certainly the most profitable healthcare system, and the most expensive one. The “best” depends strongly on your definition of “goodness”.

It's for example, the “best” healthcare system for causing personal bankruptcies.

Is it the “best” in the sense of statistically “best medical outcomes”? I seriously doubt it, considering that 25m Americans have no health coverage at all → these 25m will ruin any stats for the US. Then come the people who cannot afford medication.

@uspolitics Now I've literally chatted online with young Americans who stay in abusive family relationships because of “healthcare coverage through their family” for the moment.

Lucky for me, my first life-long medication which I got around 20 (don't remember exactly anymore) was only for hypertension, but how exactly is a system that does not consider proper coverage of life-long illnesses nowadays even considered a "working system"?

@uspolitics as a European I have to ask: What the F**ck?
@uspolitics
😂 For all German it sounds like a joke (we all have a Health Care since decades)

@uspolitics

The disturbing thing about this story is that Harris does not support single payer healthcare.

@uspolitics wait what ? Everyone get's healthcare ? How terrible ! What is the world coming to ? 😂

@uspolitics

Yup…

Get this fool off the stage, with a straight jacket…

@uspolitics How is this a bad thing?, universal health care is one of the pillars of good government. The fact that Trump can't envision equal opportunity puts into perspective his elitist nature.

@uspolitics

Trump just writes the Harris/Walz ad campaign for them.

@uspolitics

they always say stuff like this as though it is a bad thing

LOL

@uspolitics Perish the thought! <clutches pearls>
@uspolitics
Don't threaten me with a good time
@uspolitics Uuuuh, awfully! I'm so afraid of getting health care. I prefer to feel sick.
