i’ve been thinking of a fun way to get more exercise outside, and settled on taking up roller skating.
after consulting with my roller skating friend and TONS of online research (including finding out that lots of local skate shops have closed/are about to close!) i finally felt confident enough to buy some skates, but no one seems to stock skates for smaller feet. i’m glad i took a shot and emailed the manufacturer directly, i would have just kept waiting!
really, i checked everywhere for quality #rollerskates that would come in my size. in fact, just eliminating all the models that don’t come in my size, aren’t a garish color, didn’t have ankle support, and weren’t going to last left me with about two models to look into.
also sad to see that it looks like dottie’s in campbell’s is about to close. a bit far for me to stop in on short notice (and i’m certain there are no skates my size in stock there), but it looks like a worthy stop!
so now i pretty much have everything i need to start rollerskating around for fun, except for *skates* which will take a few more weeks to be made and sent 😹
i felt nostalgic and wondered if the skate rink i frequently went to as kid in the #seattle eastside was still around — sadly, it looks to have closed almost a decade ago

they’re here! just needs a bit of setup, and i’ll also put on hybrid indoor/outdoor wheels (also, PINK)
