@DenOfEarth @SteveInVentura My short — 3 days, 450 miles — trip in 🇫🇷 was the opposite, apart from the first night.

All four chargers used (2 were overnight, of which one was out of curiosity, not necessity) accepted a QR code and accepted payment without membership from Apple Pay. One of them just used a contactless payment from Apple Pay.

The CW for residents seems to be to get a membership with a universal locator service like ChargeMap, and use that for special pricing.

@DenOfEarth @SteveInVentura the advantage of the #ChargeMap app was that it seemed very up to date on current status, and included reviews from recent users who successfully charged.

The issue on the first night in the parking garage is that the chargers had no QR code and would only accept cards like ChargeMap for contactless payments, which a foreigner like me can’t get with no local address.

Fortunately, I hadn’t driven far, so didn’t need to solve that problem.
