The dehumanization of the homeless has brought us to a point where existing without a home is now a criminalizable offense. That means poverty is being criminalized, public space is increasingly inaccessible, and existence is becoming harder for all of us. We have to resist, both in action and in shifting the paradigm away from the dehumanization of our fellow human beings who struggle in this capitalist world.

The Homeless are not Alone

I just saw another video of Gavin Newsom personally stealing the possessions of homeless people and throwing them out.

New Means
@joshuaphilll It means Society is back to blaming the individual for its own failings!!!
@joshuaphilll There but for the grace of God, go I. May all those who criminalize homelessness face their #karma.

@joshuaphilll I was visiting some inlaws recently and a friend of theirs stopped in (old cis white dude) and seemed pretty level-headed until he started talking about the homeless.

"I say give them 3 strikes to sort themselves out, then we give them the needle! That'll solve the problem!"

I don't know what my expression was, but he mentioned later to the host, "Gosh, I think I scared them with my homeless solution."

@paulywill @joshuaphilll I say we do that with nazis eugenicists and the like...
@paulywill @joshuaphilll yeah, someone should tell him “when you casually talk about killing strangers who you deem beneath you - like a sociopath, it tends to frighten our houseguests.”
@ironcladlou @joshuaphilll I’ll have to keep that in mind next time I meet this sort of argument (sadly it’s common).

@joshuaphilll The goal seems imo to make as many proletarians as exempt from the 13th Amendment as possible for slavery purposes, stocking the cupboards with the imprisoned.

Its slavery. Its Bipartisan (ask Gavin Newsom). Its Patricians vs Plebeians.

@hannu_ikonen @joshuaphilll and in Grants Pass, which flipped all this into even more inhumane territory, the only option for “getting help” were Christian orgs and services. so hatred of the homeless also serves as a funnel to oppressive social systems

@joshuaphilll

The use of #StateSponsoredMalware from #GammGroup #FinFisher #FinSpy #Finsky has been seen as a targeting vector from the propaganda site #Meta using their coordinated #GangStalker groups who have been targeting people all over America who work at the #Fortune100.

This was sent a LOT, _Especially_ during the pandemic where they used that as a cover for their mini-#WaterGate #BreakingAndEntering campaigns for un-housing & using homeless users on #Facebook as a vector to attack you in your own home, for financial fraud where the police just looked the other way, even if you open cases against them, & in the process think that the #malware they use to attack protects them*.

It does not protect them. ☣️🔍🧐📰

@joshuaphilll I have seen some statistics that say up to 60% of homeless have been traumatized as children, 40% are from foster care, and 30% are vets. So our system is continuing to victimize and then criminalize people for their past.
@MichaelBishop @joshuaphilll the number of LGBTQ kids on the streets is staggering. So many of their families turn their backs and throw them away.
@joshuaphilll this probably sounds a bit conspiracy-y, but my theory is that the ultimate goal of the rich is to out price everyone and force them to live in prisons, forcing humanity to operate like ants
@joshuaphilll also look back as far as the highland clearances. Clearing our surroundings of the means to live forces everyone to depend on the market. Then, if you're not capable or privileged enough to be a market participant, your means to live are de facto and de jure denied.
@joshuaphilll It is easier and more cowardly to demonize the downtrodden than it is to dare hold accountable the greedy and selfish.

@joshuaphilll

When people are being criminalized for being poor, then the government and the rich should be punished.

The rich should be taxed until poverty is eliminated.
The government should be looking after the people, that's what they are elected to do.
If they can't do that one simple job, they need to be replaced.

@joshuaphilll I’m studying for a pesticide license atm and stumbled across this line “sanitation involves eliminating the necessities important to a pest’s survival, including food, water, and shelter.” There’s a pretty simple and chilling through line from that framing of sanitation to thinking of destroying folks’ possessions and dwellings as just part of keeping the city “clean and friendly”
