Sidebar, it's looking like it'll be a real b*tch to get to Edmonton from IAH next year; only a few flights really work to put me on the ground at a reasonable hour in Edmonton in time to check into my hotel and go do early badge pickup at the convention centre.
I'm sure it's possible to reach Edmonton by bus from Calgary if necessary. A google search says a rail trip by train is possible but VIA Rail Canada seems to say no....or at least there's no station listed in Calgary that I can find via their website, but apparently they're not the only ones providing such intercity service? idk, hard to tell from online sources here in 🇺🇸
Rental car from YYC is always possible but I'd rather not if I can at all help it.
