“I’m Voting For the Felon” is a level of cognitive dissonance that surely Orwell would applaud…a new dictionary definition of Doublethink?
@JugglingWithEggs @stevesilberman
The same "#proFelon" hypocrites impeached Bill Clinton for committing the unforgivable crime of lying under oath about having an affair with an intern.
"You simply can't have a president in office who willfully broke the law... unless they have an "R" after their name." #IOKIYAR
@stevesilberman I worry this may end up speaking for the American character.
I hope sound minds rise against this.
Flags, anthems, crowds, chants, booing, cheering, slogans, labels, patriotism, nationalism, it all short-circuits the brain.
It's in America's fundamental character.
Good to know where the weird neighbors live.
Should say
"I'm voting for the fascist KKK neo-Nazi" and have a burning cross and an "arbeit macht frei" gate adorned with swastikas on their front yard
But yeah. That's about it.
Their brains have been conditioned into one-way filters. "See, Trump's indictments/impeachments/lost-elections are signs of how powerful he is and how much the evil/corrupt Dems fear him." and "We back the blue because we need them to crack some heads (usually black or brown ones) just like we need our bully champion Trump to crack heads of the Deep State Woke Trans Mob."
They see no contradiction or moral difference between Law and Order and Might makes Right.
@stevesilberman
How do you deal with your feelings about people, especially ones you know, who voted for the felon and are willing to do it again?
I'm profoundly disappointed in them, yet before all of this tragedy I knew many of them to be good people.
George Orwell foresaw Republican doublethink.
