I don't know how effective this method is, but I use a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol. Not so the cotton is dripping, but close. And then I take the phone out of the case and just wipe the phone down. I let it air dry, then wipe it down again. Same with the case.
All of which reminds me that my phone is overdue for a "bath"!
