Did you know #CircuitBending played a huge role in the way we think of 808 drums today?

The TR-808 had knobs allowing you to adjust the pitch, decay, and tone of each drum sound, but they only made small changes to these sounds. Modders discovered they could add resistors to increase the decay, or replace the 47k potentiometer with a 100k for a more drastic pitch change. That long-ringing bass sound was never achievable on a stock #808. #808day
