Probably a "no" on the gin bit. He got pulled over for a DUI in the mid-90s, pled down to reckless driving, and went sober for the rest of his life.
It's basically the worst thing anyone has ever been able to dig up on him, and he still managed to make it a heartwarming story about life lessons and personal growth. I won't put anyone in a pedestal, but the dude is just so darned wholesome.
