Latest beta for #KDE #PlasmaTube 24.07.80 up and running fine (with local updated #libmpv) on #HaikuOS. :)

With some pointers from upstream even better :)

EDIT: kudos to @redstrate for the help on the patch upstream!

@begasus It looks amazing πŸ‘. How can I add yt as a source?

@redstrate

@artem You can't add YT directly as a source, because they don't allow 3rd party applications πŸ™‚ You add a Invidious source (see https://invidious.io/) and either track down a public server - PlasmaTube will serve you a list - or host one yourself.

Do note that it's a little turbulent right now as Google is doing it's biannual crackdown on 3rd party YT clients. Some servers may be unable to actually play anything.

Invidious

Invidious is an open source alternative front-end to YouTube.

Invidious
@redstrate Thanks for the feedback. Is it possible to login over a "proxy" source?
@artem if you mean login to Invidious? Yes, but unfortunately it’s separate from your YT account. They are functionally similar (albeit limited), like subscribing to channels, creating playlists and tracking history.
@redstrate @artem Thanks, a plus side on this, got another great pointer from @redstrate that fixes some issues here with kirigami things I've been strugling with for a long time.
Another plus is also that we found out our (default) #python 3.10 had a missing part in it's patch, mainainer OscarL will do some checks and a MR/PR for it so that is fixed also, error was found by launching PlasmaTube from Terminal.
@begasus @redstrate congrats, and great choice of video πŸ˜‰
