I went to the doctor for severe stomach issues and they gave me a depression/anxiety screening questionnaire and of course I scored high. She asked if I wanted to try an antidepressant and I was like meh.
I mean sure we can add a few more pills to the pile but that doesn't change the reality that causes to me feel that I have no control, no good choices, and no chance of a remotely comfortable future.
Well what about a therapist? Sure. My insurance barely pays for medical care. I can't afford what therapists cost. While I'm willing to talk to someone, I'm not sure that's going to fix what's really wrong here either.

I've been dealing with chronic fatigue etc. for years and each time the doctors did not know what was "wrong" with me they suggested depression telling me that I was perfectly healthy otherwise (despite obvious symptoms).
Thing is I can enjoy life when I have enough energy.
Probably just suffering from a severe case of capitalism.
MrAptronym@clarissadelune A good friend of mine recently went to therepy for anxiety and her therepist actually told her she doesn't need a therepist, she needs to quit her job and maybe find a lawyer. (She worked for a bay area startup)
