This weeks #Lego #FossilFriday is #Oxalaia

In 1999 Elaine Machado, of the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro, went to the Cajual Island, where his team found a very weathered and very fragmented Jaw was found.

In 2011 these fossils were named Oxalaia by by Brazilian palaeontologist Alexander Kellner.

In 2018, a fire ripped through the collection where the Oxalaia holotype was held. Its not known if it survived, as many other specimens were lost.
