Bought a book on the Great Fire Of London for a friend's son, after my friend mentioned the boy was absolutely fascinated by it for some reason. Dropped the book off yesterday. He's read it three times and the whole family is off to London to see the Monument tomorrow.

Not going to lie, I LOVE enabling people's interests, especially kids'. Those rabbit holes are there to dive down!

@crinolinerobot The climb up the Monument is quite something! I nearly gave up near the top because the width of the stairs gets so narrow. The view is amazing though.
There are two plaques nearby that say something about the Great Fire of London. One on a building close by, and another set in the ground that's meant to show the location of the Farriners' bakery where the fire started. I haven't found the second one yet, a car could be parked on top of the spot.
@Giselle Aaah thank you! I have told my friend.

@crinolinerobot hell yeah cool auntie!*

@gwenynen Yeah, working class plus some Asian here; I regard being an Auntie as a badge of honour šŸ˜€
@gwenynen (Gotta feel sorry for non-working-class white people who will never know the power and joy of Aunties.)
@crinolinerobot totally!!
@gwenynen I have already decided I’m a bad fairy godmother. I turn up uninvited and fling disruptive gifts everywhere.
