I finished The Acolyte series on Disney+

While it's no where near as awful as reviews led you to believe, I would say it's somewhat middling as a Star Wars entry.

There ARE interesting concepts such as the Wookie Jedi and how how young Padawans are recruited.

The best moments come AFTER the half-way point.

Unfortunately there is some nonsensical logic and story problems. To make matters worse, there's noticeably bad acting. Lee Jung-jae as Sol comes off incredibly well, and is the only reason I kept watching. Dafne Keen and Rebecca Henderson were also compelling in their roles.

The whole series revolves around the twins, and I pretty much hated one OR the other over the course of the series. Perhaps Amandla Stenberg played the part too well.

Which brings me to my last point...

Unfortunately, everyone I cared about met some unfortunate fate. And those I wanted to have an unfortunate fate, all survived.

@Starcade
It's a different flex for a #StarWars story - the season 1 story is basically a total loss with no sense of redemption at the end. The prequels could be considered similar, but Kenobi, Yoda, and the Skywalker twins escape to possibly fight the rising Empire. Here tho, all the heroes die, and the only people left seem compromised and bent on selfish motives.

I accept it as a tragedy, The Tragedy of Sol, even darker than the prequel trilogy.

@kcarr2015 @Starcade So, the Jedi have their Tragedy of Sol, while the Sith have their Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise—interesting 🤔
