@Toastie This looks like a really useful session for anyone mentoring/managing an apprentice.

I always try to remind my colleagues and our employers that we deliver occupational competence (as demonstrated by the EPA), all the certificates and qualifications are added bonuses that apprentices gather along the journey towards simply being good at their jobs.
