Got teary-eyed watching #SavingMrBanks. #EmmaThompson was so good.
I felt the message through and through. Why must we subject ourselves to painful memories, and only perceive life's cruelty, even if it's "real?" Why must we always choose doom? Is that an obligation? Is it such a bad thing to want to be "saved" and demand a happy ending for ourselves and the people we love--even if only through our imagination? If being hopeful is mere folly, so what? Nobody deserves a break more than us.
