Welp my 1-year subscription on NVIVO ran out & I wasn’t that happy. Suggestions for intuitive #qda software I can run locally with confidential data welcome. #FOSS preferred but I’ll pay to avoid too much futzing. #Openqda server install a bit daunting for local 1-person use.

Now I’ve gotta get my coding exported. Argh

@markigra It is still very rudimentary feature-wise, but you may have a look at https://requal.app/ . Even if you only give it a test run and leave us a feedback on what would make it more useful to you, it will be appreciated.

@hlageek Thanks. Will check it out.
@markigra qcoder works but is really clunky. The easier (but less featured) FOSS alternative for simple qual projects is #taguette https://www.taguette.org/. I wrote an open workshop using it as well at https://ucla-imls-open-sci.info/open-qualitative-research/index.html

@ndporter Thanks for the pointer . I’ve been thinking about design for text-based qualitative coding as a markdown extension . The quadro https://github.com/chrisgrieser/obsidian-quadro add-in to obsidian is an interesting starting point - though it would be best to separate the design from features of a specific tool.
