When the media calls men who kill as the ultimate act of domestic abuse "nice men", it's hugely counterproductive.

Some of the public hear this and think the murder victim must have deserved to die, must have provoked the killer.

As a child bereaved by fatal domestic abuse, headlines calling a man who killed three women a “nice guy” and “normal person” have felt personally traumatic. The media called my father a “gentle man” and “nice chap”, which misrepresented the controlling reality that myself and

Of course, some of the public hears this and realises that "nice men" might not always be so nice after all. They realise that the abuser was putting on an act in public.

But, lots of people don't get this. Instead, they blame murder victims for "making" nice guys kill.
