Caoilte O'Connor[1/2] For my first #VoteCorbyn canvassing session I went straight from a job interview to Tufnell Park Tavern. The campaign team had a pub bench setup for sending out groups of 4-6. A boardrunner sends canvassers to each door and records the result. Waiting to run my first group was my most perfect board runner: Jackie Schneider, Labour candidate for Wimbledon #ge2019 where I had campaigned for her nonstop for six weeks. It was like coming home and started a smile that hasn't left my face since.
[2/2] As #VoteCorbyn canvassers our job was to ask voters if they,
1) knew Jeremy was running as an Independent Candidate
2) would be voting for him
3) were uncertain about anything that we could help with
Jackie is the only boardrunner I know who can juggle every canvasser asking and feeding back on all of this and pop convincingly into any wavering conversation. Her retired teacher charm turned more than one uncertain voter into a poster bearing pledge. And it enthused us!
