@jeremy_pm I said no.

I think there is more happening in the world than a change of government in NZ.

@jono

Absolutely, I guess the question is which respective leader and finance minister would have met those challenges better.

@jono

For example I doubt JA & GR would have given a $2.9B tax break to landlords and borrow $ to fund a 2024 tax relief package that will cost NZ $14.725 billion over the next 5 years.

@jeremy_pm it's the same argument used around the world by the folks in opposition.

They always ignore what is happening in the world.

@jono

Not sure what you mean?

Hipkin's was labelled unhelpful by Luxon when he called for an immediate #ceasefire in #Gaza while still acting PM.

@jeremy_pm in the context of the local economy.

" the price of living has increased because of the government" ignoring what is happening in the rest of the world.

@jono @jeremy_pm
Yeah same

It was time for a change. Something like chloe, marama, kiritapu...

@Br3nda @jono

I appreciate an alternative was inevitable after the psychotic global and personal attack on JA.
I am simply questioning which party's policies would have been better. Chlöe Swarbrick remains my outsider for becoming next NZ PM.

@jeremy_pm @jono

If she had stayed as PM she would have burned out. She was wise to step away.

If you're asking about policies only, I'm curious why you didn't put Chris Hipkins in the question

@Br3nda @jono

Absolutely. The question isn't realistic because the last election wasn't between JA and CL. It is a hypothetical question mainly focused on the differences between the current and last govt's policies and actions.

@jeremy_pm the phrase “policy engineered recession” freaks me out.
