SEQUENCE HYMN
Per incerta
prudens consilium
per adversa
iuge solatium
largiaris.
In our stumbling
guide us on God’s wise way,
in our sorrow
comfort us as we pray,
rich your mercy.
SCRIPTURE
In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you must clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

The queen is the piece that can carry on the best battle in this game, and all the other pieces help. There’s no queen like humility for making the King surrender. Humility drew the King from heaven to the womb of the Virgin, and with it, by one hair, (Sg 4:9) we will draw Him to our souls.
