Tomorrow is probably not the day the UK starts getting better

It’s probably not even the day it stops getting worse

But it will be the day when the rate of worsening slows

@jon realistic, and depressing
@jon The Second Derivative of Hope.
@jon I think this is possibly the most accurate summation of the state of affairs.
@jon no, the worsening will only take another step or rather ten for the worse. The Labour Tory Party is the worse evil.
@Hoodedman I disagree. They’re less bad than Tories.

@jon @Hoodedman

Almost certainly less corrupt, and if they can roll-back some of the Tory misdeeds (and prosecute the COVID profiteers), so much the better.

@Cadbury_Moose @jon everyone in the leadership is fascists, and that is just the start. They are liars, deceivers, zionists, racists and extreme right wingers. I have a hard time seeing how the Blue Tories can be worse than the red Tories. They are basically two sides of the same coin. They are corrupt to the core. https://x.com/MsParaDoxy/status/1808102639088881955

@jon Or not. At least the Tories had an opposition to their left.

@jon Depends on what minority group(s) you belong too.

Some of us are riding the helter-skelter regardless...

wheee.

@Vaneshi Overall in total. It will get worse still for some, unfortunately.

@jon Trust me "the greater good" tastes foul when it's you and yours going under the wheels of the bus.

Enjoy your better future, just remember the price it cost.

@Vaneshi I know. I know. But *for some people* it’ll stop getting worse so fast. If it’s the opposite for you I get that’s no solace.
@jon
At best, if we're lucky

@jon

Unwinding problems takes time, but you have to start.

@jon

It takes a while and a lot of effort to turn a juggernaut the size of the UK. We have to be patient.

@jon I admire your optimism, and only wish I shared it.

@jon

Here in the US, I long for the day it slows down getting worse.
Congratulations?

@jon
I'm actually prepped for the Tories getting back in. People in the UK are terrible when it comes to voting. They see polls with one party ahead and think "Oh, they don't need my vote then, I won't bother". I lived there for 20 years, ran as a candidate in a general election and talked to many people. It's how their brains work.
@kaffando No. The Tories will be smashed. Pollsters know enough to know that.
@jon
If neoliberal then they won’t solve much
Amazes me that something hasn’t driven a change to a model that doesn’t punish the people… my grandfather was right about man being mans worst enemy….
Hope all goes well for you over there!
@jon That is a *lot* of trust to put in a "New Conservatives" Labour. I predict that your prediction will not age well over, say, six months to a year.
@svgeesus they’re less corrupt and have a few semi ok policies. That’s something.

@jon Replacing the criminal, corrupt tories with the timid, complacent, conservative Starmer party is an improvement, but nowhere near adequate.

The UK doesn't need an election it needs to replace the entire, rotten Westminster establishment.
