I deployed Jellyfin recently to replace Plex, but I couldn't seem to get the Android apps working to watch any videos.

It turns out that video rendering wasn't working due to permissions problems!

Jellyfin is a great replacement for Plex, but I ran into non-stop problems with the Android app with a fatal player error. 🍿

Can't say how well it works for movies, I use it exclusively for music.

@eliasp @major Finamp is ONLY for music! :-) And the recent beta versions work very well for audio. For movies I'd recommend Findroid.

Yes, +1 for #findroid . The only gap it has is that it doesn't cast, but you can just use the web version of #jellyfin for that.
