Okay so those are Sonny Angels and they are, as the name implies, supposed to be little cherub guys. Heavily inspired by Kewpie dolls which are also largely nude however less Detailed. These things have existed as collectibles for 11 Years and counting. It’s meant in a very innocent way and they are supposed to be cute/comforting. Like the original target audience was anxious overworked Japanese women who wanted to put little angel figures on their desks. Not my thing but they are All Over the art toy space so I’m just so used to them as background noise I kind of forget like. How they Are. And how very poorly the concept aged.
