Don't Let a Biden Succession Crisis Create a Succession Crisis - emptywheel

The calls for Biden to resign the Presidency at which, by most measures, he continues to have historic success, only to leave Kamala Harris without a Vice President are as silly as calls for 71-year old Sherrod Brown to replace Biden on the presidential ticket.

He needed to add 'Bullshit' to his vocabulary. Couldn't fight hard bullshit with facts.
But you can fight it by calling it out.. I think he was too nice and too fair. Qualities I want in a leader,..

@emptywheel I think what we need for hope for now is when, not it, Biden's second Presidency becomes too much, he can hand over to Kamala Harris then. Maybe a statement to that effect would quell the kerfuffle.

@davidpnice @emptywheel No, because a lot of the people complaining about Biden’s fitness don’t want Kamala to be President. Not all of them, but a lot of them.

Also the whole thing is a version of “Obama should show his birth certificate.” It’s not something to validate anyway.

@MisuseCase @emptywheel They don't matter. The important thing is Democrat support. Ignore the birth certificate bastards.
@davidpnice @emptywheel Way to misunderstand what I said.
@MisuseCase @emptywheel You're never very clear, then.

"The goal here is 👉not just to prevent Trump from winning the election. The goal is to prevent Trump from attaining the Presidency again, via whatever means he plans to pursue.👈 And for that reason, it is highly unwise to add points of potential failure he can exploit where, thus far, there are none...
Aside from his Israeli policy, Biden is, most Democratic voters..will concede, a remarkably successful President. Via whatever means, he has managed to do that job well"

@emptywheel It might be time for a million people to march on the New York Times asking them to do their damn job. Also: abolish opinion pieces.
