1/ After reading comments online about Biden's performance during his debate with Trump, I don't think people have **really** thought through what they are proposing.

Biden is the current President of the United States. For those that say he should be replaced, what they are really implying is that Biden isn't fit for office RIGHT NOW. If you take him off the ticket, might as well invoke the 25th amendment and get him out of there.

2/ Secondly, since the democrat primaries are over, who are you going replace him with? Gavin Newsome from California? Someone who didn't enter the primaries? Or someone that did but lost?

If the Democrats replace Biden with anyone else at this point, the implied becomes obvious. That the candidates *aren’t* picked by voters but by the party bosses. And the primary process is supposed to be the way for voters to pick their candidates

3/ And don’t get me started on how Biden is supposed to drop out because he's old, but a 34x convicted felon (same age) who lies as well as we breathe isn’t?

The guy who won’t accept the results of an election unless he wins? The guy convicted of rape?

Biden has an entire host of issues, that might drive voters away: funding a genocide, not willing to expand SCOTUS, creating some of very problems we have now (Clarence Thomas, Crime Bill, etc).

4/4 But age though? Both candidates are roughly the same age, but for some reason, Trump gets a pass on the age question. It does make me think there are some interested foreign parties at work here. This time they are just trying to be a bit more subtle.

Don't fall for it

@hasani The only difference I can see is that #Biden has declined slightly over the years whereas #Trump has always been looney tunes & completely disconnected from reality.

It's the same thing with exaggerations from the candidates. If Biden does it, he's a liar. If Trump does it, no one notices because it's his 16 millionth falsehood.

@hasani
I think there's a difference between him being able to finish the term, and getting elected for a 2nd term. He may have the vigor to continue till the end of his term, and 25th isn't needed. BUT do enough voters think he can do another 4 years after that - is a different question.

He really really needs to rally enough voters to the ballots. Only 66% of Americans voted last time. 33% said "fuck it, I don't care." The voter apathy matters. If too many democrats stay home, fascists win.

@hasani
Like, it's not as much a matter of mental fitness per se, right now, but more like are people confident he can continue four more years. That's much more a question of optics than rock solid facts.
