@TheBreadmonkey Show Moses a golden calf and this happens.
@TheBreadmonkey this, but it's Jesus, and you've got something
Lord of All the Law: How Jesus Handled the Ten Commandments

Are the Ten Commandments binding on Christians today? Pay careful attention to the words of Jesus, how he handles the Ten, and the greater authority he brings.

Desiring God
@TheBreadmonkey do I have to do everything myself around here?

@ryancoordinator @TheBreadmonkey β€œDo not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 5:17-20

@TheBreadmonkey

If you never read the alt text on images... you really should on this one.

@TheBreadmonkey
The omission of this essential commandment in the Bible is proof it was written after the invention of zero.
@TheBreadmonkey TIL: the philonic division is an example of prompt engineering
@TheBreadmonkey To be fair, it's not like they don'T already poick and choose anyway.

@TheBreadmonkey

The Ten Commandments- the basis of our laws and morals

@TheBreadmonkey
Contrary to the alt text, I think the caption is very funny.
I'll just note here that
* the first 4 commandments are contrary to the first amendment to the US Constitution
* the 5th can, and is often used to, excuse child abuse
* the 6th to 9th are universal, common to every religion and ethical system, and
* the 10th is an unenforceable thought-crime.
Common to every boring, dumb religion and ethical system, you mean. 😎

@cy @TheBreadmonkey
I know what I mean. Not killing, stealing, lying or cheating are basic to every ethical system, including ones you call boring and dumb.
What about when lying, stealing, killing and cheating is really f'in awesome?
