"But how are you going to get people home from the hospital without cars??"

I'm planning to narrow that box another inch or two. I still have issues getting it through some gates around our house. I've also realized that while it generally handles really well, the wider it is the more unwieldy it becomes when you have heavy weight (eg, people) on one side or another. You want weight more towards the center, and having a wider box encourages weight to move to the edges. For a wider box, something like a trike would make more sense.

The bike itself (a #Cetma) was designed for a smaller box. We got around it, with a 32in wide box, by adding some 1x4s on each side to create a floor: https://social.ridetrans.it/@Andres4NY/111202858691907447

I used the same trick on my smaller Cetma (a white Margo; the orange one is a Largo). However, the smaller Cetma box is still only like 24in wide, while this one is currently *32* in. I'm betting 30in will be the right size for us.

Attached: 4 images I finally got around to building the box. I'm going to cut out a rectangle about 12" long and 4.5" deep from the top of the box on each side to make it easier for kids (and dogs; I remember having to lift a 70lb dog into the old cargo bike box) to get into and out of the box. If this is a bad idea for some reason (maybe a swinging door is better? Maybe this will make it wetter/colder in the box if we get a rain cover in the future?), tell me now. #CargoBike #BikeTooter #Cetma #Erie #Cats
