Lyft, I do not need ads every 40mins (or at all for that matter!). Thanks!

God I wish there was a way to just ban ads from notifications. Hopefully some Apple Intelligence stuff can be applied to filter out non-critical notifications.

I also imagine the solution here is just blocking Lyft notifications and only using Live Activities (unsure if that’ll work if notifications are blocked tho :/)

@b3ll Do you have this setting off? Maybe I am blind to promo notifications now but thought I haven’t seen any from Lyft since turning it off (under privacy)
@inickt wow I did not even know that was under privacy, thank you!

@b3ll I can’t remember if I looked at the same time, but @gruber figured out how buried it was for Uber:

So annoying but I’m glad they at least expose the option– some apps still don’t do that in any capacity.

@inickt @b3ll @gruber
The thing is that they *have to*. It is engraved in 4.5.4 in Apple's Tablets of law https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/ since 2020. Before, it was just forbidden.
App Review Guidelines - Apple Developer

The App Review Guidelines provide guidance and examples across a range of development topics, including user interface design, functionality, content, and the use of specific technologies. These guidelines are designed to help you prepare your apps for the approval process.

@a_geek_otter I actually didn’t realize how strong the marketing language was in that part of the rule
@inickt @b3ll @gruber I just deleted Uber. If I need notifications for your app to function, and you take advantage of that responsibility, you’re gone!
@inickt @b3ll you just saved me from disabling notifications! Thank you sir!
@b3ll unfortunately Apple also sends out ad spam notifications too, so I won’t hold my breath for this problem getting fixed any time soon. 🤮
@b3ll What if… we had regex muting for notifications? 🤔
@marcedwards @b3ll unironically yes, wish regex filter were more commonplace, love them in Ivory
