In the process of preparing my copy of "Across a Thousand Dead Worlds" for binding & I just had to realize that my self built book press wont fit the stack 😬

Let's say I apparently did not expect wanting to bind a book with over 400 pages when I built it a few months ago 😅

28 signatures of 4 sheets (16 pages)... that's also going to be a very long sewing session before I even have a text block. So far I only printed and folded them all.

I hope it'll work out, that's a huge project for me 😅

@foosel Did you play #ATDW before binding? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I love a bit of RPG, but I'm a little uncomfortable with the almost direct conceptual lift of #Gateway by #FrederickPohl.

@dn_mason I didn't, only read a bit through it. I prefer having something physical while playing TTRPGs, so I figured I'd solve this first and learn something in the process.

I haven't read Gateway, so can't comment on that, but I liked what I read so far, and Ker Nethalas by the same author - while also still unplayed - is a solid thing as far as I can see.

@foosel Thanks! I understand the physical media thing, digital is never quite the same for TTRPG.

Would highly recommend Gateway if you like the theme of ATDW.

@dn_mason Have "take a look at Gateway" on my todo list for a while thanks to ATDW :)

Though what me sold on it was "similar vibes than Alien, Dead Space and maybe Event Horizon", and the idea to maybe get my partner (who's really into those kind of vibes) to play it with me in co-op as his first TTRPG experience ^^
