Yay, The Bear is back and just as wonderful as ever. Loved the first episode - visual poetry, evocative, emotional, and satisfying. It's a feast, and you will be satisfied.

I'm only going to watch one episode a day, and it's going to take real discipline 😆

@stina_marie I really wanted to like it but there is too much dead animal cutting for my taste. I feel sorry for them, having a shitty life just to become screen atrezzo.

@ainiriand I feel sorry for ALL dead animals. 😕 I know that the culinary producer is an actual chef. It'd be nice to assume that she has a proper reverence for what she does & that the cast/crew eats what she makes, or they donate it, but yeah, I have no idea.

I'm not justifying them doing it, and do what you gotta- food IS a focus of the show- it's just weird to me to single out THIS show when ALL of them do it, food commercials do it, reality TV does it, etc- and much less respectfully, imo.

@ainiriand I agree with your general sentiment about the animal meat/food being used as an prop/integral to the plot, btw, and that does suck, but the show and characters have such a... reverence, respect, and care for what they do, that compared to like, a show we're they're just wolfing down burgers and toss them aside after a bite, for example, this one seems less offensive to me. But that's just my opinion of course and you are also entitled to have yours! 🙂
@stina_marie yes what you say is always a nice thing to see in a tvshow.
@stina_marie those shows I am not able to watch. It is weird how the mind works because I have no problem with dead people.
@ainiriand I am WAY more bothered by animal death than people death in books, movies, and shows: I *totally* understand that.
