@oldroadside Asbury Park Casino. Real shame it was not preserved.

@oldroadside here’s a photo I took of the same spot, twenty years later, give or take. The Victorian merry-go-round horses were long gone by then, and Asbury Park, especially by the beach, was a shooting gallery. Asbury Park has since rebounded, I’m told. I haven’t been back there. I feel like returning to the restored town wouldn’t sit right with me, as my relationship was with the town when it was abandoned and silent. #nj #photography #abandoned #decay
