Ugh, so Labour are gaining on SNP in polls for my constituency. Do I effectively waste my vote and vote Green or do I hold my nose and vote for a party that has a toxic shite like Forbes in it?

#Scotpol #GE2024 #SNP

@LizEllisPhD any difference between the actual candidates in your constituency?

@LizEllisPhD
Both choices are ethically reasonable in different ways, so I'm not handing out advice.

Vote strategically Green to make SNP think twice about whether pandering to the right will go well for them at the next Holyrood elections, if it costs them a seat now...

OR

Vote tactically SNP because although it has some toxic social conservatives, they aren't directing social policy (yet), and Labour are currently explicitly supporting a genocide, so that's arguably worse.

@LizEllisPhD It's a shite situation. I'm voting SNP even though I also would rather vote Green. We live in a constituency where Green will never win and Labour are gaining. With Keith's messaging this week I just feel like we have to keep the indy voice in.

I also am haunted by what happened here in 2017.SNP lost to Tories by 148 votes. The Women's Equality Party had put up a candidate who would never win but got 337 votes. What a great day for equality that was.

@LizEllisPhD probably go tactical and stick with SNP if they are the strongest indy party in the constituency
@LizEllisPhD depends of course on your constituency and the balance of power there. Voting Scottish Greens is not a waste (unlike English Greens) and there is a strong case for holding your nose, I would say.
Writing to theSNP to explain how she almost caused you to not vote for them might also be helpful.
