I had a half-dozen systems in store running OS/2. He introduces himself and I said, I read your book a couple weeks ago and there are mistakes.
A 6 computer lab in the late 1990's was a true research lab
People would post on social media ( Ohio, CompuServe pay per minute social media ) and these were brand-new version 1 business systems, nobody likes version 1.
So people were having crashes and I had a 6 computer OS/2 lab sitting there dong nothing... using custom-build import PC parts I tested the hell out of OS/2 on. I found every cheap Taiwan part that ran OS/2 pure stable.
So business people stuck would go on social media with problems IBM couldn't solve.
I answered problems for free
So IBM calls me up ans says we want to give you a Social Media Ambassador Award #TeamOS2 with Gold Level (Highest).
I'm like, ok, university goes bye bye.
I'm a published author, I'm an IBM Ambassador, whatever that means to he world.
