I want to start a creative hobby, and I thought learning to sketch would be nice. Sweet city scapes and such, something I could do while si5ting in a cafe or while traveling.

Does anyone have a good course or tutorials or how to I could follow?

@sadedoes There are lots of really good tutorials on YouTube, if you just search for sketching - that's where I 'studied' urban sketching
@stevenlawson thank you! Do you happen to have a few bookmarked suggestions that you found valuable?
@sadedoes Do a search for Alphonso Dunn, he has loads of really good tutorials and even has a good book out
@stevenlawson amazing, thank you so much. Will look him up
@sadedoes these two are also good.
@tlvee thank you! I will check them out 😊

@sadedoes If you learn well with guided programs, I'd recommend checking these out:

https://www.proko.com/course/drawing-basics/overview (lots of free content, some paid)

https://drawabox.com/ (completely free)

Beyond that you'll find lots of awesome artists with lessons on youtube such as Marco Bucci, Sinix Design, and a tonne from Proko!

Proko - Drawing Basics

You’ll learn the most important foundational concepts for drawing anything and soon you’ll be drawing pictures out of your imagination or from reference.

@sadedoes I learned to draw in school from lessons very similar to how Peter Gray teaches it (see this book for example on the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/completeguidetod0000gray/).
