Oooo, new #Vivaldi release and as usual, they've added some new cool stuff that's going to make my life easier. Mail has now been upgraded to 2.0 with a host of new features, and two big ones that I'm going to use in the browser. First, memory use listed in the tool tip for individual tabs. Right now Fosstodon is taking 217MB?? Wowza. Also, when you're typing in the address bar now, there's an option to switch to an existing tab. If like me and have so many tabs you occasionally lose one, handy.
@mike I hate how some websites are so bloated.
+1GB to play a 480p video on youtube.
@paninodesu Agreed. Maybe this new Vivaldi feature will make it easier to name and shame offenders. Still, even small sites take up too much. I'm on the Green Team on Kev's #512KBClub and the tab still takes almost 40MB of RAM. Why 40MB for a page that's less than 100K?
