No single country can solve #ClimateChange, as no single country caused it on its own. All industrialised countries have contributed to it, and all countries must contribute to the solution.

However, that doesn't mean that not every single contribution counts! Now that we have failed to keep warming below 1.5 degrees, it is time to stop waiting for other countries to take the lead, or for future innovations to absolve us, and start doing what we can.

We know what has to be done. We have the solutions we need to do it. And every bit we overshoot our CO₂ budget will make things worse.

Assuming we ever had a CO₂ budget. It seems better to think of it as an overdraft limit, because even if we had stayed within 1.5 degrees, we still would have paid dearly for it.
