Su nombre viene de (ἀστήρ), del griego antiguo "estrella", como la forma de la cabeza floral.
Es usada como comida por larvas de numerosas especies de lepidópteros (mariposas y polillas).

Here's the aster #illustration for the 4 Seasons project.
Its name comes from the Ancient Greek (ἀστήρ) "star", like the shape of the flower head.
It's used as food by several Lepidoptera species' larvae (butterflies and moths).
