For those engineers murky about refrigeration thermodynamics... A refrigeration system has an efficiency† *higher* than 1.

For example: my 2 ton heat pump cools/heats at 14 kJ/s with only 4 kJ/s (4 kW) of input electrical power.

@MisterMadge it's technically not an efficiency because it depends on a source of heat, or somewhere to move heat to in the cooling mode, and how much energy is required to move that varies depending on the conditions at both ends.
