It's not just the websites. As local media buildings are sold off by the hedge fund looters and any remaining staff sent home to work remotely, physical records -- clip files, photos, film negatives -- often are thrown into the trash.

I need to adopt a similar process. Depending on the content and context I use a mix of Evernote, OneNote and my personal WordPress website. Perhaps I need to consider static .txt files as well.
