Generally at this time of the year here in #Milan #Italy, I'm starting to moan about the heat. This year, we're all moaning about the cold! 21°C in mid June?? Unheard of! #ClimateChange or simply freak weather caused by #solar storms?
@newsfromitaly Apparently the cold weather we're having here in Britain at the moment is more consistent with normal weather. But we've got used to heat waves (which are a result of climate change) so find it unusual now. However, the (almost) endless rain we've had for months now is a result of climate change unfortunately
@Annekin I saw a comment about never ending rain in the UK but that is something which happen from time to time - good summers and bad summers. The heatwaves are not natural even if they are good for the UK wine industry! The weather here in northern Italy is very strange this year. Last year months without rain, this year, more than we know what to do with!
@newsfromitaly I think this is where I got the information about the #endlessrain. Unfortunately the impact has been economically disastrous as farmers crops have been ruined. This will lead to an increase in prices which will negatively impact those already struggling bc of the #costoflivingcrisis. Or as I like to call it, #Brexit!

‘Never-ending’ UK rain made 10 times more likely by climate crisis, study says

Winter downpours also made 20% wetter and will occur every three years without urgent carbon cuts, experts warn

@Annekin I think that was the article which sparked the comment. No surprise that too much rain is causing problems - all most certainly exacerbated by #Brexit and the #Costoflivingcrisis. I thought the Tories were supposed to be good with money! Yet another fallacy - like #neoliberalism insanity. Fingers crossed for July 4th!
